What is a CSC?

A CSC (Card Security Code) is a three digit number located on the back of MasterCard and Visa credit or debit cards, typically found to the right of the signature strip.

The code is often required during online or phone transactions where your card is not present.

It can also be referred to as:

  • CVD
  • CVV or CVV2
  • CVVC
  • CVC or CVC2
  • V-code
  • CCV
